These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the website operated by Metro Area Youth Foundation, Inc. dba Lanterns of Hope (“Lanterns of Hope,” “LOH,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) at lanternsofhope.org, including donations, event registrations, sponsorship purchases, website forms, communications, and other services made available through the website.
By using the website, you agree to these Terms.
1. About LOH
Metro Area Youth Foundation, Inc. dba Lanterns of Hope is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for children and their families, with a focus on providing financial assistance to families fighting pediatric cancer.
LOH also conducts fundraising events and activities and works with donors, sponsors, volunteers, hospitals, social workers, community partners, and other supporters to further its charitable mission.
2. Website Use
You may use the LOH website only for lawful purposes.
You agree not to:
Use the website in a way that violates applicable law
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website or related systems
Interfere with the operation or security of the website
Submit false, misleading, fraudulent, or unlawful information
Use website content in a manner that infringes the rights of LOH or others

3. Donations
Donations made to LOH are intended to support LOH's charitable mission and programs.
LOH is recognized as a charitable organization, and contributions may be tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. Donors should consult their own tax advisers regarding the deductibility of individual contributions.
Unless otherwise required by law or expressly stated by LOH, donations are generally non-refundable.

4. Event Tickets, Sponsorships, and Purchases
LOH may offer event tickets, sponsorship opportunities, registrations, fundraising items, or other purchases through its website.
Specific event terms, benefits, availability, deadlines, cancellation policies, or refund policies may be provided at the time of purchase and will apply in addition to these Terms.
LOH reserves the right to modify event programming, schedules, venues, activities, or other details when reasonably necessary.
5. Charitable Assistance
Information provided on the website regarding LOH financial assistance is general information and does not guarantee eligibility, approval, or payment.
Applications or requests for assistance may be subject to eligibility requirements, available funding, verification, approval processes, hospital or social-worker involvement, and other program requirements established by LOH.
LOH reserves the right to approve, deny, prioritize, or limit assistance consistent with its charitable mission, policies, available resources, and applicable law.
6. Communications
If you submit your contact information to LOH, we may use that information to respond to your request and provide communications related to your interaction with LOH.
Where you separately consent to marketing or promotional communications, LOH may send information regarding events, fundraising activities, donation opportunities, organizational news, special campaigns, or other ways to support LOH.
Consent to receive promotional communications is not required as a condition of making a donation, purchasing an event ticket, receiving charitable assistance, or otherwise doing business with LOH.
7. SMS Messaging Terms
When you opt in to receive text messages from Metro Area Youth Foundation, you may receive messages regarding LOH events, fundraising activities, volunteer opportunities, donation opportunities, organizational updates, confirmations, service-related notifications, and other communications consistent with the type of messages for which you provided consent.
Marketing and non-marketing text-message consent may be requested separately.
You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Text “STOP” in response to a LOH text message. After you send “STOP,” we may send you an SMS message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. After this confirmation, you will no longer receive SMS messages from that messaging program. If you wish to receive messages again, you may opt in again in the same manner you originally subscribed.

Message and data rates may apply to messages sent to you from LOH and messages you send to LOH. Message frequency may vary. Contact your wireless provider if you have questions regarding your text or data plan.
Your consent to receive SMS messages is not transferable.

8. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the content on the LOH website, including text, graphics, logos, photographs, design elements, and other materials, is owned by LOH or used with permission.

LOH makes reasonable efforts to maintain accurate and useful website information, but the website and its content are provided on an “as available” basis.
